Joe & Britta – Winter Engagement Pictures in the Snow – Helena MT Wedding Photography

Posted by in Engagement Pictures

I first met Britta at a bachelorette party.  In fact it was Carly’s bachelorette party (Carly was one of our oh-so fabulous 2013 brides:).  Britta and I sat next to each other and bonded over the fact that we both had look-alike sisters who were fabulous and our very best friends.  [There were also a *few* other bonding shenanigans that night at the Montana Club’s Rathskeller – but we’ve all been sworn to secrecy;)]

Fast forward several months and I receive a phone call from Britta – she had just gotten engaged to her honey Joe and they wanted us to take their wedding photos!!!!!!!!!  Eeeeeek!!  The excitement!

I knew we were going to have SO much fun working together.

When the day of their engagement session arrived it was an absolutely perfect day:  crisp cold air, beautiful sun, blue blue sky, and fresh glittery snow.  **swoon**

When Joe stepped out of their car we had a laugh when we realized that not only did we go to the same church once upon a time, I had also been one of his high school teachers for a few months when his Biology teacher went on maternity leave.  Talk about a SMALL world, lol.  Now he’s all grown up and attending medical school—and getting married to his high school sweetheart. [collective awwwww]  And these two are SO great together—it’s obvious to see why they’ve lasted through eight years and lots of life changes together.

And can I just say, we had an absolute BLAST on this shoot.  Stomping around in the snow; practicing essential wedding skills like “dips,” “piggy back rides,” and “smooches;” wiggling our toes in our boots [cause they were starting to lose feeling]; sitting in the snow; tripping over branches (OK, that was just me…but in my defense it’s hard to see where you’re going with a camera in front of your face, lol).   And there was just a **bit** laughter.  Just a little;)

Which all leads to the obvious conclusion: this wedding is going to be Pretty Ridiculously Fun.

Don’t say I didn’t warn you;)

I loved Britta’s super fun tin-can nod to all of the long-distance time she and Joe have spent during their relationship:)
