Jeff & Jennifer – Intimate Reeder’s Alley Wedding – Helena, MT Wedding Photographers
One of my most FAVORITE places in Helena, MT has always been Reeder’s Alley. It’s an incredible piece of Helena history that’s been preserved almost entirely intact since Helena’s infancy during the gold boom. So you can imagine my delight when Jennifer and Jeff shared that they were planning to have their wedding there! To be honest, I didn’t even know that was an option—but it turns out that it’s an absolutely perfect place if you want to have a small, intimate wedding in a gorgeous historical location.
Jeff and Jennifer planned for their wedding weekend to be a time of celebration and connection for their families, many of whom traveled great distances to attend the wedding. From the full day we got to witness I would say that goal was a complete success!
There were so many personal touches at this wedding: Jennifer’s stunning dress which had been personally altered by her mom, the table runners, table cloths, and napkins all of which had been sewed by Jenn and her mom, and the ceremony which was officiated by Jeff’s brother. They also picked out details that were perfect for the intimate vibe: the musician Brett Mondie (who’s seriously talented ya’ll, we were super impressed!), the delicious salmon and chicken dinners (not to mention the fab hor d’oeuvres) created by Benny’s Bistro, the amazing cake made by Holly Wiest of Cotton Top Pastries, and the flowers arranged by Knox Flowers.
In the end, even the finicky fall Montana weather cooperated. !!! And one really can’t ask for much more than that;)
Enjoy this little peek into Jeff and Jennifer’s wedding!
We ended the day with some amazing after-dark portraits of the bride and groom (oh how I loooooove off-camera flash!).
It was an incredibly lovely day for an incredibly lovely couple. Jeff and Jennifer – thank you for asking us to be a part of your special day! I can’t WAIT to share the rest of your pictures with you!!

Ok. Time for some honesty.
We. Have. The. Coolest. Couples.
Seriously. The coolest!!!!!!!
One weekend we’re taking pictures of 220 guests rocking out to The Mighty Flick (an awesome 80’s band) and the next weekend we’re documenting an incredibly intimate ceremony at a private cabin in the woods.
Each event is so perfect for each couple – and I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE that!
Mark & Meghan’s wedding was the “ceremony at a private cabin in the woods” and it was ahhhhhmazing! They invited only their immediate families for the actual wedding ceremony, which meant that it was attended by about 25 people (including the bride and groom and the photographers;). Then an hour later THREE school busses showed up—with several hundred guests—who were sooooo excited to celebrate Mark & Meghan’s union! The eating and drinking and laughing and dancing and singing and glow-in-the-dark tambourine-ing then continued well into the night:)
It was obvious to us how thrilled everyone was for Mark & Meghan, and we had an absolute blast recording all of these moments for the happy couple!!

Read MoreMitch & Erica – Mountain Top Wedding – Holland Lake Wedding Photography
Sometimes the things you wish to write about are so big and full of emotion that it’s hard to know where to start…. How to describe the relationship I have with my little sister – my best friend, confidant, cheerleader, voice of reason, semi-twin…? [Whew. Fan at eyes. Breathe. Smile. Breathe. Continue.] How to describe the relationship she has with Mitch – their joyful, fulfilling, love-filled partnership…? How to describe how it feels to stand on the top of a mountain with a waterfall roaring at your back, and say the words that help join two people’s lives? How to describe how it feels to witness God’s incredible creation all around you and His love, not only in the promise of the two people joining their lives, but also in all of the relationships around you?
Pretty impossible to describe. But truly awesome to experience.
On September 21st, 2012 my little sister Erica got married to her honey Mitch. They planned an incredibly intimate celebration that was so very genuine and perfect for the two of them. They invited their immediate families (which made for a party of thirteen adults and one 4-year old) and they planned for us all to hike up to Holland Falls for the wedding ceremony and then for us to spend the weekend together at Holland Lake Lodge.
It was truly a celebration of those things that make life most rich: love and family, joy and laughter. We hiked to Holland Falls for their ceremony and then “yahoo-d” and cheered for Erica & Mitch’s first kiss as husband and wife. We drank Champaign on top of the world and Scotch back at camp. We played beanbag toss & frisbee in the sunshine and paddled our canoes and kayaks on the breathtakingly still lake. We ate LOTS of super yummy food at the Lodge and sang & danced by the firelight. We hung out in our jammies and swimming suits during the day and got dressed up for dinner (well, us girls got dressed up, the boys got to wear whatever they wanted;). We laughed and laughed and laughed [and laughed] and we cried happy tears for two of our most favorite people in the whole wide world.
Erica and Mitch – there are not enough words for me to express how happy I am for the two of you, and how very much I love you. Blessings blessings blessings upon this happy happy union. xoxoxx
And now, because I can’t help myself, here is a *tiny* bit longer blog post than normal…:)
The happy bride (this is her “eeeeeeeek!!!!! I’m so excited!!!!” face:)

Seeing my sister so happy…well, there really aren’t words…tears maybe, but no words:)
(and are you all so proud of me for not just blubbering like an idiot through this whole day?!?!?!?! Whew.)
And I think the Groom is equally happy:)
Gorgeousness.
Ug. I loooooooove this picture [and how about this dress!!!! which we found during an AWESOME trip to Eskay Bridal in Bozeman, MT – a little shout-out to those girls who helped us – thanks for such a fabulous experience ladies!:)]
This one makes me smile. Every. Single. Time!:)
