Spencer & Chelsey – Kleffner Ranch Wedding – Helena, MT Wedding Photographers

Posted by in Wedding Photography

Spencer and Chelsey were high school sweethearts—they were introduced to each other one day in the Murdock’s parking lot by mutual friends—and the rest, as they say, was history!

So their wedding day was certainly a long and eagerly awaited event, and we felt soooo very lucky to be there with these two and all of their {crazy fabulous} friends and family!!

There were so many inside jokes, and so much laughter, and so many schenanigains (bathroom breaks shmathroom breaks, hmmmm girlies?;), all overlaid with bonds of friendship and love from years and years of shared history (and lots of muddin’). We found out that Mrs. Lane is intimidating—but much shorter than she used to be. {We already knew Mr. Lane is the coolest.} We documented the fact that Mandy spits a mean bug. And we proved that that Girls, AND the uncles from Washington, just wanna have fun;)

We captured so many smiles and hugs and happy tears that I have goosebumps right now just thinking about it!

It was a truly wonderful day and we can’t wait to share these pictures with you guys!!!

Spencer & Chelsey – thanks for the opportunity to share your wedding day. We wish you allllll the happiness and we hope you love your pictures as much as we loved taking them:)

Scott & Erin – Cathedral and Kleffner Ranch Wedding – Helena, MT Wedding Photography

Posted by in Wedding Photography

Scott and Erin are both from Canada but they chose to have their destination wedding in Montana to take advantage of our wonderful scenery and awesome venues. So it broke my heart when I woke up on their wedding day to one of the coldest, rainiest, icky-ist August days I’ve seen in a very long time. I think the high was 45 degrees, it was raining raining raining, and the clouds were so low in the sky that you couldn’t even see the mountains. Boo!:( Honestly I expected to show up at the hotel to take preparation pictures of the girls and to find Erin [understandably] terribly upset—but instead she greeted me with a big hug and a smile. This was one girl who wasn’t going to let the rain ruin her day!

And what a day it was! From Erin’s exquisite dress (it was breath-taking, seriously breath-taking!), to the matching Tiffany bracelets and necklaces for the bridesmaid gifts, to the many happy tears during the ceremony at the Cathedral, to all of the crazy toasting and dancing that went on in the Kleffner Ranch barn, this was a group that knew how to have FUN!

So, was there rain almost all day?

Yep.

Did it ruin one iota of Scott and Erin’s fabulous wedding?

NOPE!:)

From the first pictures at the hotel to the last pictures at the reception it was a day filled with laughter and love—and we were just glad to be along for the ride!

Scott & Erin – thank you so much for asking us to be a part of your wedding. It was a wonderful wonderful day and we felt so lucky to be able to capture all of these memories for you!   We had a heck of a time picking just a few pictures for your Sneak Peek but don’t worry, we have HUNDREDS more to show you! Whoohoo:)

But FIRST, here’s your Sneak Peek—and this week’s Scott vs. Megan Contest!!

***For those of you familiar with our S vs. M Contests you may notice that there are a few more pictures this week than normal – Scott and Erin booked our Platinum Wedding Package so we were at their event for 12 hours instead of our normal 8 hours, more pictures = longer Sneak Peek:)

Jason & Jaimie – Fall Wedding at Kleffner Ranch – Helena MT Wedding Photographer

Posted by in Wedding Photography

What do you get when you cross a beautiful fall day, two people very much in love, tons of handmade, DIY details, lots of family and friends, and a bus from Canada (full of the afore mentioned family & friends)?  Why, Jason & Jaimie’s gorgeous fall wedding at Kleffner Ranch of course!

I’ve been working with Jaimie for over a year now and I know how very excited she and Jason were for their wedding – and how hard they [and many of their family and friends] worked on all of the details for this day.  From the Blessing Branches and pumpkins, to the wooden Signing Bench and custom coloring books, to the personalized wine glasses and wine bottle covers (that also doubled as table labels), to the completely personalized photo booth and the swing hanging from the rafters, to the dessert table (oh my, the dessert table…oh my, oh my, oh my) and the “Hello Grandma” sign, everywhere you looked were more details that celebrated this couple, their personalities, and their love.  [Jaimie also admits to a **leetle** bit of Pinterest obsession—but I just kept thinking that this whole wedding needed to be on Pinterest – for everyone else’s inspiration!:)]

But this day wasn’t just about details – it was also about relationships.  It started off when Jaimie cried before seeing her dad for the first time – and everyone around her cried too – and it ended with sweet speeches and a sparkler send-off.   In between there was lots of laughter, a Boot Game, some photo booth pictures, LOTS of dancing, quite a few happy tears, and just a *few* pictures:)  It was quite the awesome day!

Jason & Jaimie – thank you so much for letting us play a part in your special day.

Alrighty guys!  This Scott vs. Megan Contest is officially open for voting!  Here’s how it works:  Scott and I have each chosen a few of our favorite images from Jason & Jaimie’s wedding and now we want to know which image is your favorite!  Voting is easy:  just comment below and tell us the Image Number of your favorite picture (Image Numbers are above each picture).

Thomas & Kirsten – Kleffner Ranch Wedding – Helena MT Wedding Photographer

Posted by in Wedding Photography

It is always so special for me to be involved with couples that are getting married.  I often work with them for a year (or more!) as they prepare for their big day:  we take engagement pictures, we talk about their families and wishes and dreams, I kind of act as a planner by helping with the wedding-day schedule and picture lists and all of the other little details.  And after all of this I am not only super excited for their wedding, I also feel that I’ve truly made new friends….  So when a mom places her hand to her heart as she sees her daughter as a bride for the first time it gives me goosebumps, and when the bride (or groom) tears up during the ceremony it makes me teary too, and when they laugh out loud at the funny or ridiculous thing that just happened I can feel myself grinning behind the camera, and during the father-daughter dance I am literally blinking away the tears.  It really is a special relationship, one that I feel so honored to have….  And Thomas & Kirsten’s day is a perfect example of how that relationship grows & becomes special.

I remember meeting these two at our very first meeting and when Kirsten pulled out all of her folders and clippings and information I thought to myself “oh yeah! A girl after my own heart!” (cause those of you who know me know that I do loves me some organization, yes I do!).  And then the wedding planning progressed, and the engagement pictures were taken (see their super fun pics here!), and the details were figured out…and before we knew it we were taking pictures on The BIG Day!

And what a day it was!  Thomas & Kirsten got married at gorgeous Kleffner Ranch (where we got to try out the brand-new bridal-getting-ready-room – er, whatever you would call that kind of a room, lol).  They were surrounded by so many family and friends and they had sooooo many beautiful & personal details to their day (from the sapphires in Kirsten’s necklace to the engraving on Thomas’ ring, everything had a little reason or tradition behind the choice – so very cool).   Thomas & Kirsten seemed to love every single minute of it.  It’s such a pleasure to photograph people who are so immersed in the moment….  It really was a great great day.

Thomas & Kirsten – thanks for letting us play a part in your beautiful wedding you – we had so much fun and can’t wait to share these pictures (and all the rest of them) with you!

Okey dokey artichokeys (hmmm, would that be “artichokeys” or “artichokies”? or does spelling even count when you’re making up words…?), here’s our LAST Scott vs Megan Contest for the summer!! (oh don’t worry, we have two more fall weddings and a December wedding before we close out the 2012 year:)  Here’s how it works:  Scott and I have each chosen a few of our favorite images from Thomas & Kirsten’s wedding and now we want to know which image is your favorite!  Voting is easy:  just comment below and tell us the Image Number of your favorite picture (Image Numbers are above each picture).

Tony & Carole – Kleffner Ranch Wedding – Helena MT Wedding Photographer

Posted by in Wedding Photography

Ever since Tony & Carole’s fab-u-lous engagement session this spring I have been super excited to hang out with them again and document their wedding!  These two have such a wonderful, chill outlook on everything and such a fun, funky sense of style – not to mention a great sense of humor – so taking pictures with them is just awesome.  Their wedding at the Kleffner Ranch was such a celebration of love – and everywhere you looked were more details that showed their personalities and sense of fun.  From the orange Puma sneakers and “Groom” socks for Tony to Carole’s orange platform sandals and stunning handmade necklace, to the centerpieces featuring lollipops , Tony’s origami, and Carole’s orchids, to the non-traditional take on the father-daughter and mother-son dances – it was all so very personal and fit Tony & Carole to a T.

It was a joy to be around two people who are clearly such an awesome fit and who are so very in love—and who’s family and friends are so very happy for them!  Awesome indeed!!

(And, bonus, we might have sweated, we might have fanned ourselves, we may have drank gallons of water, but neither the bride or groom, not Scott or I, and not any of the guests or family actually melted into a puddle.  Which is quite the feat considering that it got up to 106 degrees that day!  whew)

Tony & Carole – your day was awesome and we felt so lucky to be there with you guys!  Thanks for letting us play a part in your wedding day!

And now for the next Scott vs. Megan Contest!  Here’s how it works:  Scott and I have each chosen a few of our favorite images from Tony & Carole’s wedding and now we want to know which image is your favorite!  Voting is easy:  just comment below and tell us the Image Number of your favorite picture (Image Numbers are aboveeach picture).  Bonus – tell us why you love it!!:)
