Sam & Stephanie – Lakeside Ranch Wedding – Helena MT Wedding Photography
Sam & Stephanie came from separate coasts last week (Seattle and New York respectively) to get married here in Stephanie’s hometown of Helena, MT. They were joined by friends and family from all over the country and they picked the gorgeous venue of Lakeside Ranch for their celebration.
Everywhere you looked there were details that were completely personalized—not only for the bride and groom, but also for each guest: mason jars with each guest’s name hand-written on them, pill boxes with personalized “prescriptions” from the bride & groom (both of whom are soon-to-be docs), color coordinated straws with flags of the bride & groom’s initials, gorgeous centerpieces, a striking birch bark cake (which, I might add, required **quite** the groomsman-and-father-of-the-bride dance to bring it out to the party…but that’s a whole different story, lol), and sweet little birch bark baskets for the flower girls (complete with heart and the initials “S + S” carved on the sides, so darling!).
And then of course, we had the oh-so happy bridal couple, LOTS of yummy food (oooooh how we love Chili O’Brien’s catering!), great bluegrass tunes from the Bridger Creek Boys (out of Bozeman, MT), plus picture perfect summer weather. You really can’t ask for more than that! It was an awesome day and we felt so lucky to be there to capture all of Sam & Stephanie’s memories.

James & Ashley – Lakeside Ranch Wedding – Helena MT Wedding Photographer
James & Ashley got married on a goooooorgeous summer day at Lakeside Ranch last weekend. And, ohmigoodness, you couldn’t order up that perfection if you tried! It stayed in the low 80’s all day – not a cloud in the sky, just a breath of a breeze so the lake stayed like glass – and everyone at the wedding was SO incredibly happy to be celebrating with this couple!
There were little touches everywhere that spoke of the love these two have for each other and the love and support they have from their family and friends, from the pearl jewelry set hand-delivered by Ashley’s parents as she got ready in the morning, to the heartfelt speeches (and hunting jokes) at the reception. Laughter and appreciation come so naturally to these two – and to see their joy in every aspect of their day was pretty awesome. It also makes photographing them a breeze (their first look even made me tear up a little – James was soooo sweet).
All in all it was a pretty incredible day – one that we felt lucky to be a part of!
James & Ashley – thanks for having us there on your so-special day. We had so much fun and wish you guys the very best!

And now it’s time for a brand new S vs. M Contest! I’ve been so excited to photograph Andrew & Mindy’s wedding – we had such an awesome time at their Engagement session and every time we talked I got more excited for their big day:) See, Mindy & I have frighteningly similar taste when it comes to photos–and she loves pictures just as much as me [and Andrew is a super good sport!:)] so I knew photographing their wedding would be soooooo much fun.
