Dan & Tori – Rustic Outdoor Lincoln, MT Wedding – Helena, Montana Wedding Photographers

Posted by in Wedding Photography

Ever since I met Dan and Tori I have been looking forward to their wedding. They are just SUCH a great couple and we always have so much fun whenever we talk or hang out (I mean, just look at these yummy engagement pictures from last fall! So. Much. Fun!).

When I woke up last Saturday on the morning of their wedding and realized what a cold, rainy, windy day it was I honestly wanted to cry a little for them. I knew how much they had been looking forward to their gorgeous outdoor location in Lincoln, MT. But I also knew that if anyone was the type to roll with it and set their focus on their blessings instead of the rain, it was these two. I was 100% right: we arrived to find Tori gorgeous and calm, we saw bunches of their family and friends working hard to get extra tents set up, and everyone greeted us with smiles. The day continued to be rainy and windy and cold, but we also had miraculous weather clearings-just-at-the-right-time (hello rain free ceremony – woot!). When I gave Tori a hug at the end of the day, I told her that their day had been gorgeous—and I meant that from the bottom of my heart. The weather may have been less than ideal, but the love and cherishing and gratitude that Dan and Tori had for each other, and for their friends and family, was a beautiful thing to witness.

I’m usually a sap at all weddings (dang it if the Father Daughter dance doesn’t get me every.single.time!) but I found myself extra teary at this one. As Dan and Tori saw each other for the first time and quiet tears streaked down both of their faces, as Tori walked down the aisle alone in memory of her dad who passed away seven years ago, as Dan’s best man put a comforting arm around Tori’s mom during her emotional toast to the couple, as Tori gave a tearful thank you to Dan’s Marine buddies who served with him overseas, even as I sit here writing about their day and all of those special moments—it just really touches me…. It truly was a beautiful day.

And there was also lots of laughter: Tori’s girls yahoo’ing down from the window to start the Bride & Groom reveal, Dan’s grandpa giving me a hard time [all night] about my 1-2-3 picture countdowns, little boys playing in the mud, ridiculously fast line dancing, homemade wine, a fabulous cake smash, zippers being caught down, earring backs dropped. Such a great day!

Dan & Tori – thank you so much for letting us be a part of your wedding. It was truly an honor and we wish you guys the very very best!
